A demonstration was blocking traffic in downtown Seattle, the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT) reported at 5 p.m. Monday.

However, SDOT announced around 6:45 p.m. that demonstrators had cleared out.

The gathering appeared to be an “ICE Out for Good” protest headed to the Federal Building, as posted online.

Protesters were calling for the government to rein in immigration officers after a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent in Minneapolis killed Renee Good earlier this month.

The protest also comes days after Alex Pretti, an intensive care nurse, was killed by a U.S. Border Patrol officer in Minneapolis on Saturday.

More than a dozen “ICE Out for Good” protests took place over the weekend in western Washington.
