Des Moines toddler found safe; Amber Alert canceled

Apr 15, 2015, 6:26 AM | Updated: 9:54 am

An Amber Alert has been canceled for a 2-year-old boy abducted from his Des Moines home Tuesday afternoon. Police said he was found safe in Renton.

Ronnie D. Tran, 2, and his mother were reportedly taken from their home in the 24400 block of 13th Place S. and taken to a home in Fife.

The alleged abductors were two women known to the mother, according to police. The suspects used a stun gun and plastic ties to subdue the mother.

She was able to escape, but couldn’t reach her son inside the house.

Police said the boy was abducted by his grandmother. She was believed to be armed with a stun device.

A second suspect has been located and police are interviewing the boy’s father.
