Seattle police and SWAT responded after a man stole a truck and went on a destructive rampage in Seattle’s First Hill neighborhood.
Police say the man started crashing into cars around midnight.
He then drove into a parking garage near Swedish Medical Center where he damaged the surveillance system and crashed into more vehicles. There are seven floors of parking in the garage, but it is not known how many cars were damaged.
He also struck two police cars with the stolen truck and used a hammer to break out a window in another car.
Police said they tried to negotiate with the man to get him to come out of the garage, but he refused to comply.
A SWAT team was called and officers used tear gas and a Taser to take the man into custody after they were able to corner him in the garage.
