Kitsap County Sheriff Office detectives have arrested the 47-year-old mother of a 9-year-old boy who was found dead Tuesday morning in Seabeck.

Investigators initially called the young boy’s death “suspicious,” but are now saying that it is “attributed to obvious homicidal violence,” according to The Kitsap Sun.

The Kitsap Sun reports that 911 was called at about 7 a.m. Tuesday to the 11400 block of Symes Road in the Wildcat Lake area of Central Kitsap. Medics administered CPR. Eventually, Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue called a chaplain to the scene. The investigation continued over Tuesday before it was announced that the mother was arrested. She has not yet been charged.

The boy reportedly attended Green Mountain Elementary School.
