Dry weather, warm temps for the next week across Washington

Jul 28, 2014, 5:29 AM | Updated: 5:29 am

Dry weather is in the forecast and the Northwest isn’t expected to see rain for over a week.

The National Weather Service reports dry conditions across the state will last for the next week, as well as some above-average temperatures.

A high pressure system will remain over much of Washington maintaining dry conditions and highs reaching the mid-80s.

University of Washington meteorologist Cliff Mass reported on his blog that the dry weather across the state will make it the driest in the Union.

According to Mass this is the “climatologically driest period of the year, with July 29 being the most arid day on average.”

In Eastern Washington, high temperatures are expected to hit the high 80s to mid-90s. These dry conditions will continue to put the area at risk for wildfires.
