All Nippon Airways grounded five of its 11 Dreamliners on
Saturday after Boeing alerted that there could be a problem
with their Rolls Royce Engines.

Flightglobal.com reports engine
testing showed the potential for corrosion in some gears
that could lead to damage to the gearbox.

While no ANA 787’s showed the issue, the airline grounded
the planes with the affected parts as a precaution. Two of
the planes had the parts replaced, and the planes were put
back into service Sunday.

The three others will be out of service for a few weeks as
the airline waits for parts.
