Robbery suspect at large after armed standoff at Everett motel

SWAT officers were in a standoff with a robbery suspect who holed up inside an Everett motel.

Officers were called to reports of an armed robbery of a woman behind the Motel Express at 6:30 a.m. Thursday.
The suspect, armed with a gun, fled and went inside the motel in the 2300 block of Broadway, according to Everett PD spokesman Aaron Snell.
The man would not answer officers who were trying to talk to him. SWAT, snipers, and police were on-hand.

Police entered the room where they suspected the robber was holed up, but he was not inside. The suspect remains at large.
The motel was evacuated and guests were waiting on an Everett Transit bus.
Everett High School was temporarily locked down but the lockdown has since been lifted. North Middle School remains on a modified lockdown.
The woman who was robbed was not hurt.
