Two fishermen were found dead after getting swept into the water, the Ocean Shores Fire Department confirmed.

The bodies were found just before 10 a.m. Wednesday at Copalis Beach.

“Two surf fishermen were submerged in the breakers,” the Ocean Shores Fire Department stated. “Initial report was that one fisherman was pulled to shore, and CPR was in progress. The second victim was also pulled to shore, and CPR was initiated. CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support were immediately performed; unfortunately, both victims did not survive.”

No further information is known about the fishermen at this time.
