No Discover Pass is needed to park on Washington state recreation lands Friday, Nov. 26.

Washington State Parks, the Washington Department of Natural Resources, and the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife will offer free entrance to state recreation lands Friday. Discover Pass free days apply to all visitor parking on DNR and WDFW lands and in day-use areas at state parks.

The free day on Nov. 26 will be the last for 2021. The full list of designated free days for 2022 will be announced in December.

These free days for state lands, according to a release from the Washington State Parks, align with 2011 legislation that created the Discover Pass and called for the designation of up to 12 free days when the pass would not be required to visit state parks.

The pass costs $30-35 annually, or $10 to $11.50 for a one-day visit, depending on point of purchase. A pass is typically required for vehicle access to state recreation lands managed by Washington State Parks, DNR, and WDFW.
