GeekWire: Which gadgets should you buy the geeks on your list?

Nov 25, 2014, 9:00 AM | Updated: Nov 28, 2014, 10:24 am

What do you buy for that person in your life who always has the latest tech gadget?

The guys from GeekWire run down all the best options in their annual Holiday Gift & Gadget Guide.

Andru Edwards, editor-in-chief of Gear Live, joined GeekWire hosts Todd Bishop and John Cook to review the best e-readers, tablets, and fitness devices. They even shared the tech items on their own wish lists.

Todd wants a drone after seeing one in action at a recent fire in Fremont.

“There was suddenly a drone overhead and this thing was capturing the greatest pictures of this fire.”

John and Andru both want Sonos. Andru explains Sonos plays, according to the motto, “any music on earth.” After you plug it into your wall, you connect it to a smartphone and then from there, it can play any music you have stored on a computer, as well as from subscription services like Pandora, Spotify, and Stitcher.

“The cool thing is that it creates its own mesh network in your home, so you can start adding on,” Andru says. “You can have a Sonos unit in the kitchen, add one to a bedroom, add one to the bathroom.”
