Hit-and-run driver causes 12-car crash in Tukwila

Northbound SR 599 was blocked at SR 99 in Tukwila after a hit-and-run crash involving 12 vehicles.
The Washington State Department of Transportation said the chain-reaction crash happened shortly after 5 a.m. The highway reopened around 8:15 a.m.

Police said the crash was caused by a driver who hit a guardrail, then abandoned her car and ran away. Troopers said she is believed to have been picked up by another motorist.
Those hurt in the crash have non-life-threatening injuries.
Investigators used a drone to map the crash scene.
