ICE Seattle announces 3 more ‘significant public threats’ arrested

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) in Seattle announced it has arrested three additional illegal immigrants “who have or continue to pose a threat to public safety.”

Jiewei Hu, 42, a citizen of China was arrested on February 1 in Seattle. ICE Seattle says he holds convictions by the Superior Court of the State of Washington for drug manufacturing.

Jorge Maradiaga, 45, a citizen of El Salvador was arrested seven days later, also in Seattle. ICE Seattle notes that he was previously arrested for commercial sex abuse of a minor. On that same day, ICE Seattle arrested Shakhrukn Atakhojayev, 33, a citizen of Kazakhstan arrested. He is “unlawfully present in the U.S. and considered to be a threat to public safety.”

“Ensuring public safety is always of the utmost importance,” ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Seattle Field Office Director Drew H. Bostock explained in a press release. “And the enforcement actions highlighted here show that commitment.”

The three illegal immigrants are in ICE custody pending deportation.
