A jackknifed semi truck caused some major frustration for commuters on southbound I-5 Tuesday morning.
By 5:30 a.m., the truck blocking two lanes of I-5 near SR 526 in Everett was causing up to a five-mile backup.

Though the truck was just blocking the HOV lane just after 6 a.m., the Washington State Department of Transportation recommended drivers avoid the roadway if possible.
Best bet to avoid SB 5 at SR 526 collision – backup 5-plus miles – is to use SR 529 and go south through Everett. Expect added congestion.

The crash was cleared just before 6:30 a.m.
