The cops are looking for three kids on bikes they think smashed out windows at a school in Spanway twice in two weeks.

A Crimestoppers flier describes the vandals as white, between the ages of eight and 13-years-old.

Photos from security cameras show three kids riding BMX-style bicycles around Cedarcrest Middle School on Sunday afternoon, Oct. 14 and again two weeks later on the 28th.

“We believe it is the same group of kids that are responsible for both times and we don’t want to see a third time where they’re busting a bunch of windows because… the dollar value adds up very quickly,” said Pierce County Sheriff’s Detective Ed Troyer.

The kids, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, used sticks to break out windows in portable classrooms, said Troyer.

One of the kids could be as young as seven or 8-years-old.

“And a kid that’s that young, out doing this at that age, it’s a bad example and we definitely (want to) get this interrupted so there’s no more damage and put a halt to these little kids doing such big vandalism.”

The sheriff is asking for information about the vandalism and Crimestoppers, 253-591-5959, is offering a $1,000 reward.
