NHL commissioner Gary Bettman says Seattle has been approved for an expansion team. The full board of governors is expected to vote in its meetings on December 3-4.

KIRO Radio’s Mike Lewis says Tuesday’s announcement is one of the most important events for Seattle’s future in hockey, besides when an actual puck drops on the ice in 2020.
