It’s not a big name in the hotel world, but Seattle’s top
place to stay is now downtown’s Hotel 1000, according to
new rankings from Expedia.com.

Expedia ranked the boutique hotel 34th in the world, a
jump from 51st last year.

“The rankings are crowd-sourced, largely determined by the
more than a half-a-million Expedia customer reviews
received during the course of 2011,” Expedia Vice
President and General Manager Joe Megibow said in a news
release.

Seattle’s Hotel Monaco ranked 96th, while the downtown
Sheraton rated as an Insider’s Select hotel outside the
top 100.

“These properties have been identified by Expedia
customers as consistently delivering superior services, an
exceptional guest experience and notable value; earning a
place on the Insiders’ Select list is a testament to their
ongoing commitment to excellence,” Megibow said.

Cedarbrook Lodge near Sea-Tac Airport topped the list last
year, but wasn’t selected this year.

Expedia users selected Marrol’s Boutique Hotel in Slovakia
as the world’s top place to stay. The Four Seasons Miami
took the top stop in the United States.
