Man arrested after chase, standoff in Kent

Police arrested a suspected gunman who led officers on a chase that ended in a crash and standoff along SR 167 in Kent Saturday.
The road was closed in both directions near S. 277th (northbound) and 212th (southbound) for more than an hour, causing backups.
Auburn police say a man pointed a gun at people from a car earlier in the day. They reportedly pursued him, but terminated the chase. Kent officers caught up with him later, but the car crashed along SR 167.
A witness told KING 5 she heard several gunshots after a car rolled into the grass.
SWAT was brought in and the suspect was taken into custody around 6:30 p.m.
No injuries have been reported.
