Man arrested for shooting at Everett police, leading officers in pursuit

Apr 29, 2013, 12:05 PM | Updated: 3:49 pm

Police say they’ve arrested a 30-year-old man who they say fired shots at an officer during a pursuit that started in Marysville and ended in Everett.

Everett police say Marysville officers tried to stop a pickup truck with no license plates, but the driver sped off onto southbound SR529.

After slamming into a parked car, the driver took off on foot and fired a gun toward officers.

Police say officers did not return fire. They later learned the truck was stolen earlier in the day.

Officers from Marysville, Everett, Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office and Washington State Patrol searched the area with help from a K9 unit. They found and arrested the man near the 1400 block of Hoyt Ave.

Initially, schools in the area were thought to be in lockdown, but the Everett School District told KIRO Radio all schools were in normal operation.

No injuries were reported.

Everett Police Department is investigating the incident.
