Police are searching for a man who tried to kidnap two young sisters near their home in southeast Olympia Sunday.
The 10- and 7-year-old girls had followed a neighborhood cat into the woods, where they soon encountered a strange man.
“Someone grabbed, and was holding me,” one of the girls told KIRO 7.
“He grabbed me by my tights and pulled me off my bike (after he tried to grab my sister), and after she escaped … she screamed her head off,” she said.
The sisters kicked and fought off the man, then rode their bikes home to tell their father. He called 911. Their dad looked, but could not find the man in the area.
Officers also searched the area and nearby neighborhoods with a K-9 unit, but were unable to locate the suspect who is described as white male in his 20s, about 5’ 10”, with a muscular build and dark hair. He was wearing a red sleeveless t-shirt, blue jeans and black and white tennis shoes. He reportedly has a goatee on his face and a tattoo on his upper left shoulder.
