Man reports stabbing, then tells police he fell on his own knife

A man who called to report he’d been stabbed ended up changing his story after being questioned by officers.
Police report they received a 911 call around 11:30 a.m. from a 22-year-old man reporting he’d been stabbed at Camelot Park just outside of Federal Way. The victim told police the suspect had run off into a wooded area of the park.
Two schools in the area, Camelot Elementary School and Thomas Jefferson High School, were placed on lockdown as a precaution.
When authorities arrived at the scene, and began questioning the victim, the man would not provide them a description of the suspect.
“The victim became very uncooperative, refused to identify the suspect, say what the suspect looked like in any way, then actually changed the story and said that he had fallen on his own knife,” says King County Sheriff’s Deputy Charlie Akers.
Police are still investigating and searching the park.
The two schools were taken off lockdown around 12:30 p.m.
