Police say two men in a dark-colored sedan pulled up near the man standing on the street corner of 26th Ave Ne and NE 55th Street at 8:30 a.m.
One of the men got out the car, fired several shots towards the man and a van parked nearby, and then jumped back into the car, according to police.
The car sped off on 27th Ave NE and the victim was taken to Harborview Medical Center with life-threatening injuries.
Detectives believe the men, in their late teens to early 20s, had sought out their victim and the shooting was not random.
