Marysville middle school to require kids use iPads

When the kids at Marysville’s 10th Street Middle school go
back to class this fall, they won’t have to worry about
carrying around heavy textbooks. The school is requiring
all 180 students use iPads.
The Everett Herald reports the
iPads will replace all school books and be used as
journals and planners and for student assignments.
No one will be left out. Students who can’t afford their
own can check out an iPad from the district. Boosters
bought a number of them with money raised during the past
school year.
Apple will also offer the option of buying an iPad on
monthly
installments. They cost between $399 and $699 depending
on the configuration.
Eight other school districts in the state are reportedly
using iPads for instruction.
The Shoreline School District provided iPads for all
Shorewood High School students last year. Each student at
nearby Shorecrest High School will receive iPads this
fall, the Herald reports.
