Mill Creek boots gun ban at parks under threat of lawsuit

Mill Creek had banned guns in its parks for a decade, but the city quietly lifted that ban last month under the threat of possible lawsuit.
The 2nd Amendment Foundation threatened to sue Mill Creek if it didn’t get rid of its ban, now that the State Supreme Court has ruled gun bans in parks are unconstitutional.
The Herald reports the city council stripped the ban from its books last month saying it wanted to get in step with state law.
The ban had not been enforced since 2009 when a judge ruled Seattle’s ban was illegal.
Snohomish County got rid of its ban in 2010.
There are 25 cities and counties in the state that have gun bans in place for parks. They will likely be getting letters too, threatening legal action if they are not removed.
