Missing 18-month-old found safe; Amber Alert canceled

UPDATE: The Thurston County Sheriff’s Office says the missing 18-month-old has been found safe in Olympia and the Amber Alert is canceled.

An Amber Alert has been issued for a missing 18-month-old boy from Olympia.
Police say Mason Wilhelm has been abducted by his estranged mother after she assaulted the father in violation of a protection order.
Detectives are looking for 34-year-old Cassandra Wilhelm, who is driving a 2012 dark blue Dodge Avenger with Washington license plate AIE8318.
Police believe Mason is also in that car. The toddler is described as being Caucasian/Asian mix with brown hair and eyes. He is about 2’7″ tall and weighs about 28 lbs. He was last seen wearing a grey T-shirt with animals on the front and black Northface jacket.
Cassandra Wilhelm is described as being Caucasian/Asian mix with brown hair and brown eyes. She’s about 5’7″ tall and weighs about 175 lbs. She was last seen wearing a Seahawks jersey. She is known to be schizophrenic and a heroin user.
Police say the mother took off in the car with the boy on her lap and there is no car seat in the vehicle.
Anyone with information is asked to immediately call 911.
