Missing JBLM soldier found dead

The soldier from Joint Base Lewis-McChord who went missing during a training exercise Friday afternoon was found dead later that day.
The body was found at approximately 10 p.m., KING 5 reports.
The soldier was a member of the 1st Special Forces Group that was training over a wooded area in Mason County.
The unidentified soldier was forced to deploy a reserve parachute during the training exercise. About 110 people were searching in a 6-mile diameter circle of rough terrain and timber using night-vision goggles.
An investigation into the soldier’s death has begun, according to Col. Otto K. Liller, commander of the 1st Special Forces Group.
