Mom charged for running down West Seattle teens

The King County prosecutor’s office has charged the woman who ran down two high school students in West Seattle last week with assault and hit and run.
Amy Lynn O’Brien is accused of driving her car into the two teenage victims after getting into a fight with them.
It all started with O’Brien’s dog jumping on one of the girls who then hit the dog. There was an argument and then a fight. Police say the 37-year-old O’Brien ran to her car and intentionally ran the girls down as they walked to Chief Sealth High.
O’Brien is a single mom with a 7-year-old daughter, Q-13 reports She was released from jail Tuesday night after posting $250,000 bail.
The Seattle Times reports both were girls were treated at Harborview Medical Center. A 17-year-old was released the same day but her 18-year-old friend was kept in the hospital in serious condition. No update is available because the family has asked it be kept private.
O’Brien is due back in court on Dec. 17 for arraignment.
