A Yakima judge has sentenced an Ellensburg man to nearly six years in prison for attempted child rape.

This is one of six attempted child rape cases being prosecuted from the Net Nanny operation, a 2019 collaboration between local, state, and federal law enforcement officers in Yakima. To catch the suspects, detectives posed as people selling sex with minors online.

The man, Bradley V. Tschauner, responded to a suggestive online ad, written and operated by law enforcement, of two underage girls. Law enforcement offered up the girls, to which Tschauner, under the pseudonym “trainwreck420,” replied “nice” and offered to meet. Upon Tschauner’s arrival, the man was arrested, and ultimately admitted and pled guilty to conspiracy to commit child rape.

Last month, the sting operation resulted in an Idaho man’s guilty plea to attempted child molestation and exploitation.

Four other men from Yakima and Everett are awaiting trial after being charged by the State Attorney General’s Office with attempted child rape.
