A crash involving two Bellevue police officers shut down northbound I-405 for several hours Thursday morning.
The crash occurred just south of I-90 at the Lake Washington Boulevard exit.
Traffic was being diverted off the highway, causing a backup of at least six miles. It took drivers approximately 70 minutes to drive from Renton to Bellevue.
According to Washington State Trooper Rick Johnson, two Bellevue motorcycle officers collided while escorting a portable structure — originally reported to be a crane. Both officers will survive, according to Trooper Johnson.
The highway reopened just before 7 a.m.
