PAWS is caring for a baby bobcat turned in by a Redmond woman who spotted the animal outside her chicken coop last month.
When the kitten was admitted, it weighted only 3.6 pounds. PAWS reports the animal was extremely underweight and had likely been separated from its mother for several days.
The cat was anesthetized so handlers could safely give her a thorough exam.
PAWS believes she was found before her health declined to a point where she would have had long-term health issues.
They plan to care for the kitten until next spring when she will be a stronger, sub-adult cat.
