Photos: Seattle Police release new images of May Day suspects

Following the violence and vandalism of the May Day melees that damaged downtown businesses buildings and vehicles, police continue their search for suspects.

On May 1, black-clad protesters used sticks and bats to smash stores and automobile windows during demonstrations.

Protesters shattered glass doors with rocks and threw or shot a smoke bomb toward the lobby of the federal court of appeals building. The device hit the only door that didn’t break, spun off into some nearby bushes and started a small blaze that quickly burned itself out.

Clashes with police escalated during the afternoon as demonstrators used sticks, smoke bombs, paint, hammers, rocks, and tire irons and did serious damage to businesses and cars.

The mayor issued a special order allowing police to confiscate makeshift weapons. By the evening, police had seized about 70 such items, including one with at least a dozen cigarette lighters taped together.

Seattle police made at least a dozen arrests after protesters, including the group of anarchists known as the “black bloc” incited violence against officers in addition to causing property damage.

SPD requested photos and videos from media that was covering melee downtown. Since then, they have uncovered several suspects, but need the public’s help discovering their identities.

According to Seattle Police:

The first suspect is wanted for smashing windows at American Apparel in downtown Seattle.

The second suspect is wanted for vandalism in downtown Seattle.

The third suspect is wanted for smashing windows at a Wells Fargo bank downtown.

The fourth suspect is wanted for throwing a bottle at officers.

The fifth suspect is wanted assaulting an officer, after he stomped on one officer’s knee.

The sixth suspect is wanted for smashing windows at Niketown.

The seventh suspect is also wanted for smashing windows at Niketown.
