The News Tribune reports that Robnett, 62, is the first woman to lead the Pierce County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office.
Lindquist served nine years as prosecutor, but his last years were controversial, marked by lawsuits and accusations of misconduct. Robnett knew Lindquist well — she worked under him between 1994 to 2012. She was an assistant attorney general over the past few years, before she ran against her former boss.
The Tribune reports that Lindquist’s recent campaign was troubled with controversy, including “costly litigation related to his actions, multiple accusations of misconduct from his subordinates and an independent investigation that found a politicized, image-obsessed office driven by intimidation and retaliation.”
Robnett also out-raised and outspent Lindquist during the campaign — her campaign raised $287,771 to Lindquist’s $227,079.
