A Pierce County Sheriff’s sergeant has been arrested on suspicion of first-degree assault. Robert Glen Carpenter was booked into the Pierce county jail shortly after 2 a.m. Friday.
Tacoma police spokeswoman officer Loretta Cool confirmed Carpenter’s arrest but released no further information.
Carpenter was suspended from duty in 2007 after he was arrested twice in one day in Chelan County for driving under the influence. The arrests happened within a four-hour period in November of that year.
KIRO 7 is working to gather more information and will update this story throughout the day.
