Issaquah’s Bullseye Dog Rescue is hosting a special event to promote appreciation and understanding of Pit Bulls on Saturday, called Pit Bulls on Parade.

The event, which runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. August 25, will be held at Riverdog Canine Coaching in Issaquah. Organizers have planned a variety of activities, including dog competition events like weight pull, flyball, and agility challenges to showcase the pit bull breed’s special abilities.

The event will also host a raffle, a hot dog stand to raise funds for the dogs, and pet accessory vendors. Volunteers will be on hand with special deals on pet healthcare for dogs of all breeds, offering discounted pet micro-chipping at the event.

The day will end with a parade of adoptable pit bulls and pit bull mixes from around the area.

Bullseye Dog Rescue, which organizes the annual event, hopes that seeing friendly pit bulls in action will help to lessen the stigma of danger and unpredictability that the animals carry. Part of the event will involve free and discounted Canine Good Citizen testing, which is a national certification offered by the American Kennel club to reward pets’ manners.

The organization hopes that the event will help to adopt out as many rescue animals as they can.
