Police looking for suspect in Rainier Avenue shooting

Seattle police say a robber shot a man in a business north of Seattle’s Rainier Playfield late Monday.
Detectives said the 56-year-old employee was shot in the chest and taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Officers are still searching for the suspect.
According to a news release, a 911 caller reported a disturbance just before noon in a business in the 4400 block of Rainier Avenue South.
Shortly after, another caller in the same area reported a man had been shot.
Responding officers found the man with a gunshot wound to the chest and began first aid.
Seattle Fire Department medics arrived shortly after and assumed care of the victim, eventually transporting him to Harborview Medical Center in serious condition.
Police learned the victim was an employee at the business where the disturbance was reported, and that a male suspect shot him during an attempted robbery.
Officers began searching for the suspect and called a K9 team to assist.
The team searched the area, but did not locate the man.
Robbery detectives responded to the scene and will continue to investigate this incident.
