Politicians around Western Washington have gathered at party headquarters Tuesday night to watch the vote count and potentially celebrate a win or concede a loss.
At the GOP headquarters in Issaquah, Susan Hutchison, running against Democratic incumbent Maria Cantwell, told KIRO Radio’s Mike Lewis right now she’s following the national races.
“I’m just looking forward to all the results coming in,” Hutchison said.

In Bellevue, where the Democrats are gathered for the night, Kim Schrier, who is running against Dino Rossi, says she’ll jump up and down with excitement if she wins a spot in the 8th Congressional District.
“It would restore my faith that we have a government that really works for the people again and that you can get far without taking corporate PAC money,” Schrier said.
