Poll: Half of Seattle’s voters disapprove of Mayor McGinn

He’s had two years to win the hearts of Seattleites, but about half of the city’s voters disapprove of Mayor Mike McGinn.
According to a new KING-5 News poll, 50 percent of the respondents disapprove of McGinn’s job, 33 percent approve, and about 18 percent are not sure.
Men and women were about equal on McGinn’s disapproval rating, but the poll revealed women were more unsure about how to rate his performance.
Mayor McGinn delivered his State of the City address on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m.
One of his focuses early in his address was a topic that have been hotly contested during his term: Police presence in Seattle. “More officers will be deployed to the places we believe there is most likely to be violence. They will address street disorder, assaults and shootings, focusing on the specific problems in each neighborhood.”
The KING-5 poll said both the Seattle City Council and the public schools superintendent had a higher approval rating than the mayor.
The mayor beat out Seattle Police Chief John Diaz and the city’s school board.
