Protesters take to streets of Seattle, block traffic downtown

Dec 3, 2014, 6:55 PM | Updated: 9:55 pm

Several hundred demonstrators took to the streets of Seattle again Wednesday evening in the latest in a series of anti-police protests.

Along with protesting the decision not to indict former Ferguson, Mo. police officer Darren Wilson in the Michael Brown shooting, the demonstration was fueled by the decision by a Grand Jury in New York Wednesday to not indict a police officer in the choke hold death of Eric Garner.

Protesters blocked traffic at several intersections, lying down in the street in a “die-in.”

Despite a heavy police presence, the demonstration remained peaceful and no arrests were reported. It ended just before 10 p.m. back at Westlake Park.

Another protest is scheduled for Thursday.
