Proud Boy from Arlington arrested in Capitol siege

A Proud Boy from Arlington has been arrested in the siege on the U.S. Capitol in January.

The man was arrested Thursday in Bradenton, Florida, according to The Herald.

According to a federal criminal complaint, Daniel Lyons Scott, aka “Milkshake,” is facing several charges, including assault on a federal officer.

Scott was “one of the first or perhaps the first” to push at the front lines, where Capitol police were, according to the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Scott was a longtime resident of Snohomish County but recently called Arlington home and is a former Boeing worker, The Herald reported.

According to court records, The Wall Street Journal published a report in January, which identified Scott as a Proud Boy. The video was taken by a person who had documented the Jan. 6 events.

Scott was reportedly seen wearing an olive green jacket, blue sunglasses and a blue hat. Scott was reportedly seen in other photographs marching with other Proud Boy members the day of the siege.

In the same video report from The Wall Street Journal, a person reportedly says off-camera, “Let’s take the _ _ _king Capitol.” Another person reportedly approaches the camera saying, “Let’s not _ _ _ king yell that, all right?” Ethan Nordean, also a Proud boy leader and charged in connection with the insurrection, reportedly says, “It was Milkshake, man, you know … idiot.”

According to court records, “Scott can be seen pushing two U.S. Capitol Police officers backward, up the steps.”

“Scott then appears to pull one of the two officers into the crowd for approximately 3-4 seconds before another officer is able to pull the officer out of the crowd. Both officers retreat up the steps while Scott moves off-screen to the left of the video,” records read.

Following the siege weeks later, two people interviewed by federal investigators confirmed Scott was at the Capitol, and one person said he was inside the building but later retracted the claim, court papers indicated.

Scott is being charged with the following:

• Knowingly entering and disorderly conduct in any restricted building or grounds.
• Knowingly engaging in an act of physical violence in any restricted building or grounds.
• Disorderly conduct and an act of physical violence on Capitol grounds.
• Obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder.
• Obstruction of Justice/Congress.
• Assault on a federal officer with physical contact and intent to commit another felony.
