KIRO 7 reports the man suspected of shooting up to four people in Belfair is “down.”

Mason County deputies responded to a report that a man shot four people at a home outside Belfair.

Authorities say a man called 911 and said he had shot four people and was holding a gun to his own head. The man says he shot his wife and children, but the sheriff’s office has not confirmed that, KIRO 7 reports.

The Sheriff’s Office first tweeted about the report at about 9:30 a.m. on Friday.

Deputies and a SWAT team are on scene.

Police said they are withholding the location of the incident until the area is secure.
