A Great Dane stuck in the mud at a beach at Hammersly Inlet near Shelton was able to pull himself out during a rescue mission.

Polar freed himself and ran home right as deputies arrived in a Mason County Sheriff’s patrol boat. Fire rescue was also at the scene attempting to pull out the huge dog.

The sheriff’s office says the owner is very happy Polar made his way home and thanked everyone for their efforts.
