Reward offered in death of coyote in Lake Forest Park

The search is on for whoever set an illegal trap in Lake Forest Park that led to the death of a female coyote earlier this month.
The Humane Society of the United State and The Humane Society Wildlife Land Trust is offering a $2,500 reward for information about the identity of whoever set the trap that leads to an arrest and conviction.
A 15-year-old girl discovered the dead coyote while walking in a wooded area of a watershed, according to a press release.
The coyote apparently dragged herself to a creek after she managed to pull the trap gripping her foot loose from a stake that such devices are typically attached to, the release said.
A 2000 citizen initiative largely banned leg-hold traps and other body-gripping animal traps. The release notes the City of Lake Forest Park also enacted an ordinance banning the use of body-gripping animal traps in 2012.
