Another White House briefing, another question about testing. Testing, testing, testing — it’s a daily national mic check.
The reason the testing question comes up is that Dr. Anthony Fauci himself has said we’re not at a level that allows us to figure out who’s going around spreading viruses and who’s not, which is why most of us are locked down.
Because in a true health emergency, justice is turned on its head: We are presumed guilty until proven innocent. That makes testing the key to the liberation all those demonstrators are demanding.
But to the President, the testing just isn’t a problem. So what is the real problem?
“The problem is … if we did 350 million tests — one for each person — the media would say, ‘oh, we should have done two for each person,'” Trump said at a recent White House briefing.
The problem is the media will never be happy!
Being a member of the media myself, I can vouch for that. We constantly complain. We are never happy. But here’s how you can get back at us Mr. President – if you would just actually come up with those 350 million testing kits, you could make the CDC print your signature on every one of them.
You’re happy because you get the credit, we’re happy because we finally get tested, and we can complain from our studios instead of our basements.
