We are now in the process of trying to figure out what the price of safety should be.

Is releasing people from isolation worth the risk?

You can gather all the data you want, but in the end, public opinion will decide.

An opinion poll in Seattle for example, estimates 72% of the people are willing to distance themselves for four months or more. But plenty of others around the country think the imposed mutual buffering has already gone on way too long.

I’m now in my 35th day of working from home, and I could do this forever, but I don’t want to see us fighting about it.

So speaking for myself – I will cheerfully take on the obligation of protecting myself from the rest of you.

I know that Dr. Birx is angry with the party dudes who’ve been flouting the rules and packing the beaches, and who might then visit their elders and infect them.

But as an elder myself, I think I know my kids pretty well. I’m pretty sure I raised them to understand that after attending a beach orgy, you need to mask up before visiting Dad. Of course, I’m also pretty sure they’ve never attended a beach orgy.

Anyway, to you elected officials truly trying to do the right thing, God bless you. But if a majority of the voters are saying party on, there’s only so much you can do to help people who don’t want your help.
