Ross: Losing the COVID war could make us the ‘Dumbest Generation’

If we end up losing the COVID war, we’re going to end up being called the Dumbest Generation.
Future generations will wonder how we got beat by so many non-superpowers. Including Cuba. Cuba! Total COVID deaths in Cuba – 87. Florida has twice the population – but 58 times the number of deaths! Over 5,000.
What did Cuba do? Back in March, Cuba shut down tourism, forced most people to stay home, sent medical teams on weekly neighborhood visits to report symptoms, and required face masks in public.
Anyone leaving the house in search of food – and in Cuba it can require searching – had to carry a COVID-19 card.
Cuba treated its population like children, but it worked.
Now, I’ve been to Cuba — there’s a lot of poverty and it’s obviously not a free country – but that only makes it more painful to see them beating us.
We should be showing the world that being free makes you stronger, not sicker! Yet instead, we rebel, and assert our constitutional right to keep and spread germs.
But darn it, I’m going to stay positive. We have to stay positive and test negative. And even if we are losing the COVID war, when it comes to rebellious rebels rebelling rebelliantly, no other nation even comes close.
Because we’d infect them, too.
