Schools briefly locked down following south Seattle shooting

Six Seattle schools were ordered to “shelter in place” following a shooting Monday morning near Seward Park.
Seattle police were called to reports of a shooting near 51st Avenue South and South Brandon Street just after 10 a.m. KIRO Radio’s Brandi Kruse reports police say a woman in her 30s fired several shots and held a neighbor at gunpoint. The suspect ran to a nearby house, where she
briefly barricaded herself inside.
Hostage negotiators were called in and talked the woman into surrendering.
Police say the suspect is known to them and has a history of mental health issues.
No one was injured in the shooting.
