Seahawks’ live mascot takes detour before Thursday game, lands on fan’s head

A Lumen Field tradition went awry during Thursday night’s showdown between the Seattle Seahawks and Los Angeles Rams, after a live bird mascot went after an unsuspecting fan.
The Seahawks’ live mascot is an Augur Hawk named Taima, boasting a wingspan of 4.5 feet. Taima flies out of the tunnel at Lumen Field before the start of each Seahawks home game with the help of handler and Spokane falconer David Knutson.
Usually, the hawk will fly right for Knutson once it emerges from the tunnel, but this time around Taima veered off course, ending up among the crowd before landing directly on a fan’s head.

Neither the fan nor the hawk were injured in the incident, with Taima eventually making her way back to her handler when it was all said and done.
