Seattle police say the search continues for seven valuable paintings that were in the back of a Budget rental truck stolen last Thursday in North Seattle.

The artwork by prominent Seattle painter Whiting Tennis was being moved from a gallery in Pioneer Square to his studio.

The stolen truck was found in West Seattle Sunday after it was spotted in the 3400 Block of SW Walnut Street. A caller saw the unoccupied parked truck and thought it might be the same truck that had been featured on the local news.

Detectives are seeking information about the missing artwork. View a list and pictures of the stolen art here.

The stolen art is valued at $65,000.

Auto Theft detectives are still investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Yamashita at (206) 684-8945 or Sergeant Backstrom at (206) 684-8948.
