Seattle-bound flight forced to make emergency landing

An Alaska Airlines flight heading to Seattle had to make an emergency landing in Northern California Wednesday morning after losing cabin pressure and suffering a ‘catastrophic electrical failure.’
An FAA spokesman said Alaska flight 539 was en route from Ontario, California when it was diverted to San Jose. The plane landed without further incident at about 7:40 a.m. after declaring an emergency.
A dispatcher with the San Jose Fire Department tells the San Jose Mercury News the crew of the Boeing 737-400 reported the decompression and electrical problem about 40 minutes after taking off.
No one was injured. The cause of the failure is being investigated.
