Seattle business owner says $15 minimum wage threatens her future

A Seattle business owner says she doesn’t know where she’ll get the money to cover the city’s newly approved $15 minimum wage.
Destiny Sund, co-owner of The Confectional, a cheesecake eatery with locations around Seattle, joined KIRO Radio’s Jason Rantz Show after the unanimous vote on Monday. Sund, whose business qualifies for the 7-year phase-in, said she doesn’t feel like she was heard by the city government.
“It doesn’t matter if it’s a 7-year phase-in, 5-year, or 20-year, a 60 percent increase plus payroll taxes; it’s a major blow for us and where’s the money coming from? Where does the City Council and the mayor think the money will come from?”
