A beloved fried chicken restaurant in Seattle has closed its doors for good.

Capitol Hill’s Bok a Bok will not be reopening, Chef Brian O’Connor commented on a Facebook post from the restaurant on Aug. 15.

“Hey everyone. We’re not going to reopen, sorry for the bad news,” O’Connor stated. “Damage was substantial and lots has happened with our lives since the floor debacle so we are not going to be able to continue our Bokin’ adventure. Thanks for a great 10 years. Love Chef B.”

O’Connor posted the comment under an October post that stated Bok a Bok was closing until further notice after a pipe broke under the floor where the restaurant cooks its chicken.

“We noticed some dip in the floor and had it looked at,” Bok a Bok wrote on Oct. 16. “Bad news, the floor needs to be cut open and repaired. We will be open when it’s done, We have no idea when that will be. Sorry for the inconvenience.”

‘You will be missed’: Community mourns loss of beloved fried chicken spot

Bok a Bok served the community its signature fried chicken for 10 years, offering chicken thighs, chicken strips, sandwiches, and even fried tofu. Foodies could also snack on kimchi mac n’ cheese, dirty tots, dirty rice, ginger cabbage slaw, cabbage kimchi, or dirty fried corn on the cob.

“Sorry Chef, that’s an amazing run tho,” one Facebook user responded to O’Connor.

Another said, “you will be missed!!”

Bok a Bok’s Capitol Hill location was the last one left, according to Secret Seattle.
